People often come up to me and ask how they can help Salmon Hockey. Aside from a seasonal, part-time rink manager who helps us keep our ice in tip-top shape, Salmon Hockey happens because of volunteers and generous donors. We have been fortunate to have the help of foundations like the National Hockey League Players Association, CHC, and the Steele-Reese Foundation when we were raising funds to purchase a refrigeration system for our ice. When we had an unexpected major repair of the refrigeration system, the Duke Family Foundation and local businesses helped fix it quickly.
But most of our successes are possible because of sweat equity and individual contributions from our loyal supporters. This year our budget is $45,180. Because our goal is to keep hockey affordable for all families, we keep registration fees at a bare minimum. The rest we raise through fundraising and gifts from people who know that every dollar they invest with Salmon Hockey goes directly into keeping kids on the ice, maintaining a safe atmosphere, and providing high quality hockey action for players and spectators alike. Every year we provide scholarships and equipment to youth who would otherwise be unable to participate in a sport like hockey.
So, if you are one of those people who would like to know how you can help Salmon Hockey, we can always use volunteers to help us run the tournaments that we bring to Salmon throughout the year, and we can always put your tax deductible contribution to good use. The Salmon Hockey Association is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization.
Thank you for your contribution and thanks for spreading the word to other supporters of Salmon Hockey.
